Would you like to improve the aesthetics of your smile? Whether you would like to make a small change or a dramatic smile transformation, porcelain veneers can help you achieve your goal.
Our Midtown Manhattan dentists have seen the positive impact that cosmetic dental treatments like veneers have on their patients’ lives and confidence. Even if you weren’t born with a perfect smile, porcelain veneers can help you achieve one, regardless of your age.
What Porcelain Veneers Can Do for You
Dental veneers are super-thin shells of porcelain or ceramic that we securely bond to the front surfaces of the teeth we’re treating. The veneers create a new tooth surface that conceals whatever cosmetic flaws lie beneath them.
- Cracked or broken teeth
- Gaps or spacing issues
- Stained or discolored teeth
- Slightly crooked teeth
- Irregularly sized or shaped teeth
Getting Started with Porcelain Veneers
If you are interested in making any kind of aesthetic improvement to your smile, the first step is to call Dr. Andriy Krayniy and Dr. Rosemarie Zimmerman to schedule an appointment at our NYC dental office. We’ll listen carefully to your wants and desires for your smile to help you achieve your smile goals.
In some cases, a procedure like dental bonding or porcelain crowns might be more appropriate for your needs. If so, we’ll be sure to present all your options, explain the pros and cons of each, and help you to decide which is right for you.
A More Beautiful Smile with Veneers
Once we determine together that dental veneers are right for you, we start by taking highly-accurate digital impressions of your teeth. Together, we’ll choose a shade of white for your veneers that match your smile and deliver the results you want.
Using our impressions, a custom dental lab fabricates your veneers to our precise specifications in a process that takes 2-3 weeks. When we receive your custom veneers back from the lab, we’ll schedule another appointment for you at our Midtown Manhattan dental office to adjust them as needed and bond them to your teeth.
Living with Porcelain Veneers
One of the benefits of porcelain veneers is that, unlike tooth enamel, they are resistant to discoloration from coffee, red wine, and other staining foods and drinks. You still need to brush and floss diligently, of course, to prevent decay to the underlying tooth.
When properly cared for with conscientious oral hygiene and dental checkups twice a year, dental veneers can last as long as 10 years.
You should also know that removing dental enamel to accommodate the veneers is an irreversible procedure. If you’re not ready to make this commitment, we will be happy to discuss alternatives with you.
We Can’t Wait to See Your Smile
Dr. Krayniy and Dr. Zimmerman love improving our patients’ lives by improving their smiles. If you would like to learn more about porcelain veneers, please call our dental office located on W. 58th Street in Midtown Manhattan.
