Emergency Dental Care
Dental emergencies can be upsetting and leave you feeling at a loss and uncertain of what steps to take. Some dental emergencies are so painful that you may not even be able to focus enough to think clearly.
The first step is to call Dr. Andriy Krayniy and Dr. Rosemarie Zimmerman, your emergency dentists in Midtown Manhattan. With their decades of experience, they can address any dental problem you are facing and provide the prompt treatment and relief you need.
What Constitutes a Dental Emergency?
When you're faced with an unexpected dental problem, the last thing we want you to do is to spend time worrying about whether or not your situation is an emergency. Dr. Krayniy and Dr. Zimmerman want to know about anything with your oral health that concerns you. We would rather you call us to find the situation's not urgent than have you suffering needlessly.
Some of the most common dental emergencies our NYC patients experience are:
- Tooth pain
- Swollen or bleeding gums
- Jaw pain or swelling
- A broken or fractured tooth
- Lost crowns or filling
- Tooth infection
- Dental abscess
- Dental trauma
The first step whenever you think you have an emergency is to call our New York City dental office and speak to a member of our team. We'll ask about your symptoms to decide if your needs are urgent, or if your situation can wait until our next available appointment.
Whatever we determine, you can rest assured that we will do everything we can get you out of pain and provide the relief you need until we see you.
The Most Critical Dental Emergencies
Urgent dental emergencies include severe toothaches, swelling, infections, or dental abscesses. All are situations that indicate you are in imminent danger of losing the tooth. To serve you promptly, we always allow extra time in our schedule so we can accommodate these situations the same day.
A knocked-out (avulsed) tooth is an extremely critical emergency and can occur due to trauma in an accident or sports injury. We have a window of about two hours to try to re-implant the tooth in its socket, so call us immediately. Please note that if your injury includes trauma to your jaw or face, or you are bleeding excessively, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
We'll Match Your Emergency Treatment to Your Needs

Common emergency dental services we provide for our New York City patients include:
- Fill decayed teeth
- Repair broken or chipped teeth
- Replace lost dental crowns and fillings
- Perform comfortable root canals
- Extract a tooth that's beyond repair
Rest assured that our caring front desk team takes your emergency very seriously and wants to help you. They will listen to your concerns, evaluate the urgency of your situation, and get you on our schedule as soon as possible.

He came highly recommended to me
Dr. Krayniy is a wonderful dentist. He came highly recommended to me by a friend whom is also a patient of his. I feel very fortunate to have gotten in an emergency appointment with him at this time. He has been very thorough in his communication with me about my options and has offered me a lot of ease in my anxiety during the procedure (root canal). Dr. Krayniy is very skilled, calm, communicative and kind. I highly recommend him!
